About

A project born from a bicycle commute

Not a car is a young French project whose mission is to reinvent the urban vehicle for safer, more pleasant and more sustainable mobility.

The origin

The idea came to Henri in 2022, while he was looking for a way to get around Paris without the jams and without risking his life on a bike. He wanted a vehicle able to filter like a bike and park like a bike, but closed and protected like a car.

Finding nothing that truly matched, he started drawing a solution (being a mechanical engineer helps) and then modelling it in CAD. Encouraging feedback from friends and colleagues launched the project.

The mission

Reinvent the urban vehicle to make city travel safer and greener. Neither quite a car, nor quite a bike: an intermediate vehicle, designed for real daily trips.

Today

The concept and the modelling are done. A running prototype is being prepared. We are looking for partners to speed up this phase.
